Well my squidgy parcel arrived today -though I couldn't play with it until now as I had to work :(

But when I did get into it some of it is lovely and I can see a finger slipping moment happening when the house is empty!

The Caressa Express is just lovely for a bear - the camel colour will make a very handsom chap. The Inca is also fab in the camel colour again I can see a good looking little lad being created out of that.

The Caressa DK is not so good for what Im looking for but Im sure that ball will be happy in stash for awhile. The Jet again is not quite what Im looking for this time.

The Alpaca soft - wow - how lovely is that!! in the Lichen it is beautiful ..... I think I could see a very posh bear coming from that yarn ... we will have to see how many times my finger slips.

Sunday 14 June 2009

Oho I had that finger slipping moment again!!

I've been really good (really) as I've only ordered one of each of the yarns that I like just to see what they knit like, I don't know many yarns so there is a whole world of squidgieness out there that I have to discover :)

I'm hoping that some of them will "brush" out and make lovely fluffy bears so fingers crossed. Oh and I'm going to be a proper knitter by doing tensions squares!!!
Hmmm empty needles!

Well this morning I found myself with these for the first time in a long time, so I needed something to fill them but didn't fancy a "big" project. So this is what I came up with. Not sure what I'm going to do with him but it was fun to do :)

I would like to introduce you to ..... Tiny Tim

Here is one of him with Terry (just for scale)

Tuesday 9 June 2009

I've been looking into this Etsy stuff and trying to get some stuff ready. I took Terry Ted, Baby Bear and Ringo to the post office for a weigh in and was quite shocked at the cost of posting!

Big Bears - UK prices are not too bad £4.45 + £1.99 for packaging but the US price is just out of this world £15.12 + £1.99 packaging again :(

Baby Bears - UK prices are £2.65 + £1.49 for packaging and US prices are £9.50 + £1.49 packaging.

Im not sure people will pay that on top of the price of a bear. I think they would need to be sent in boxes otherwise they would end up all bashed and out of shape if they went in a bag. . . . . Oh what to do?

Terry the Tan coloured Ted

Please meet Terry. He is the first bear I have done with long hair :)

As you can see he is a little tired at the moment but when he's up and about later I'll get some more pictures.

Wednesday 3 June 2009

Ohhhh a great big squidgy parcel was waiting for me when I got home from work today! It took me all of a nano second to rip it open and inside are three beautiful colours of Wendy Origin.

I know I know I said I wouldn't but ...... I think it will be just fab for baby bears :)

I am half way though a "golden" bear in sassy which looks like it could be quite a handsome looking bear when its finished and I MUST get it finished before I start on more babies.

Tuesday 2 June 2009

My fingers keep slipping when I'm "browsing" the web!! I managed to find some safety eyes online so they fell into my shopping basket - hopefully they should be here in a couple of days as the last lot I ordered I couldn't get the backs onto (my thumbs just aren't strong enough).

I have also weakened ... I know I must be mad! but I have ordered more Wendy Origin yarn. I know its finger breaking to knit with but it does make the most divine teddies :)

So what this space as I feel a curly baby bear or two being created.
