Noel

Here is Noel, he was made on commission as a Christmas gift for someone who collects bears!!

He's a cheeky chap because as soon as he got his legs he stood up!!! He is the first full size bear that has managed to stand on his own and once he started there was no stopping him.
I hope he behaves himself and settles in with his new friends.

Snowy

I sent one of my bears off to Australia as a Christmas bear for a friend o f mine. I didn't remember to take many pictures of him before he left but I did get one as he was getting ready for his trip

Please meet Dolly.

As you can see she is a little shy! I made her at the end of June and she was by request. She needed to have a school uniform, shorts and t-shirt pyjamas and hat, glove and scarf oh and shoes.

Here she is in her school uniform!

So once all her kits was made it was time for her to go off on her travels. I got a box for her but to start with she wasn't so keen!

I think she was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a blanket in there!! But I had a little chat with her and explained that she really needed to go to her new owner and that this box was the quickes way and she agreed to get in :) She even posed for a couple of pictures before she went off.

I've just been looking through some old photo's of projects that I've completed and realised that I hadn't shown you any of my Dolly's.

I think i need to get some pictures together and tell you a story :)
Wow what a break!!

At the end of the summer my mojo left :( things got busy in my work life (I now have two jobs) and my down time was greatly reduced.

I really struggled to find quality time to pick up the pins so I had a complete rest.

But last week totally out of the blue mojo returned - a bit shaky but its come back so hopefully the teddies will come again.

I have just completed Snowy who is getting ready for his life changing trip to the other side of the world, he is taking some christmas gifts with him as a little surprise for his new mum.

I also have an order for a bear for christmas so hopefully I will get him finished soon, and I picked up an order for another bear but not needed until March 2010.

So I'm hoping that Im all rested and the pins will be clicking happily again :)

Tiny Tim

Not sure if I posted a picture of Tim, but I thought I would put this one up as it shows how small he is.

Saturday, 8 August 2009

Just an update on some of the bears - Goldie Bear and Uppy Bear have gone for a stay at the shop to see if they can find homes.

Goldie is looking for somewhere that he can just lay about as he's a little lazy and Uppy is desperate for someone to pick him up. When I left the shop he was standing with his arms up pleading for a cuddle.

It was diffcult to leave him but hopefully it shouldn't be long before he finds what he's looking for.
Well Blanket 3 is now complete - that one is for my DD. I'll add pictures laters.

Here is the picture as promised :)

Sunday, 2 August 2009

Well I've had a bit of a break from making bear as Ive been knitting very big blankets, my DS nicked the first one which then started a war between DD and OH so I have knitted them both a blanket and now I want one - so just one more to go and then hopefully never knitting anything in foxy again!!

I think its back to bears now and a friend has said they may have some contacts which may be useful for selling them.

I also have some other things in my head which I may have to give in to and have a go at knitting (but they are all experimental).

Wednesday, 22 July 2009

Well having pondered for probably months now this morning I finally listed a bear on Etsy!!

I will see how it goes but Im really nervous about it. The ones in the shop are selling quite well at the moment but it would be easier to do it on line so fingers crossed that it works.

Thursday, 16 July 2009

This is a patterned row.

This is a straight knit row.

This is 5 stitch purl then 3 stitch knit

Tuesday, 16 June 2009

Well my squidgy parcel arrived today -though I couldn't play with it until now as I had to work :(

But when I did get into it some of it is lovely and I can see a finger slipping moment happening when the house is empty!

The Caressa Express is just lovely for a bear - the camel colour will make a very handsom chap. The Inca is also fab in the camel colour again I can see a good looking little lad being created out of that.

The Caressa DK is not so good for what Im looking for but Im sure that ball will be happy in stash for awhile. The Jet again is not quite what Im looking for this time.

The Alpaca soft - wow - how lovely is that!! in the Lichen it is beautiful ..... I think I could see a very posh bear coming from that yarn ... we will have to see how many times my finger slips.

Sunday, 14 June 2009

Oho I had that finger slipping moment again!!

I've been really good (really) as I've only ordered one of each of the yarns that I like just to see what they knit like, I don't know many yarns so there is a whole world of squidgieness out there that I have to discover :)

I'm hoping that some of them will "brush" out and make lovely fluffy bears so fingers crossed. Oh and I'm going to be a proper knitter by doing tensions squares!!!
Hmmm empty needles!

Well this morning I found myself with these for the first time in a long time, so I needed something to fill them but didn't fancy a "big" project. So this is what I came up with. Not sure what I'm going to do with him but it was fun to do :)

I would like to introduce you to ..... Tiny Tim

Here is one of him with Terry (just for scale)

Tuesday, 9 June 2009

I've been looking into this Etsy stuff and trying to get some stuff ready. I took Terry Ted, Baby Bear and Ringo to the post office for a weigh in and was quite shocked at the cost of posting!

Big Bears - UK prices are not too bad £4.45 + £1.99 for packaging but the US price is just out of this world £15.12 + £1.99 packaging again :(

Baby Bears - UK prices are £2.65 + £1.49 for packaging and US prices are £9.50 + £1.49 packaging.

Im not sure people will pay that on top of the price of a bear. I think they would need to be sent in boxes otherwise they would end up all bashed and out of shape if they went in a bag. . . . . Oh what to do?

Terry the Tan coloured Ted

Please meet Terry. He is the first bear I have done with long hair :)

As you can see he is a little tired at the moment but when he's up and about later I'll get some more pictures.

Wednesday, 3 June 2009

Ohhhh a great big squidgy parcel was waiting for me when I got home from work today! It took me all of a nano second to rip it open and inside are three beautiful colours of Wendy Origin.

I know I know I said I wouldn't but ...... I think it will be just fab for baby bears :)

I am half way though a "golden" bear in sassy which looks like it could be quite a handsome looking bear when its finished and I MUST get it finished before I start on more babies.

Tuesday, 2 June 2009

My fingers keep slipping when I'm "browsing" the web!! I managed to find some safety eyes online so they fell into my shopping basket - hopefully they should be here in a couple of days as the last lot I ordered I couldn't get the backs onto (my thumbs just aren't strong enough).

I have also weakened ... I know I must be mad! but I have ordered more Wendy Origin yarn. I know its finger breaking to knit with but it does make the most divine teddies :)

So what this space as I feel a curly baby bear or two being created.

Sunday, 31 May 2009

Oh I made a baby!! Well not really but he's a little bear standing only 18 inches tall and he is so demanding.

Here are some pictures of him :)

As you can see he is a typical little boy - always wanting picky uppy!

He had a lovely time outside playing rock climbing and here a picture of him playing superman! (maybe he needs a red cape?!)

But again as soon as he's tired ........... picky uppy again!!

Friday, 29 May 2009

Oh and I've been thinking (always dangerous) but after my initial bad reaction to Origin, there are some lovely colours available and it does make the most amazing teddies fur ..... I may weaken and try again.
Well I'm camped out by the front door again waiting for the postman. I've set the trap on the lawn so ......

I'll let you know :)

Thursday, 28 May 2009

If this works it could be the link!!

BintyBears.etsy.com

Ahhhh I think it worked not that there is anything there yet but please keep checking back :)
Last night I took the brave move to register with Etsy :)

It maybe the first step into a new world for me so watch this space. If I get it going and I can work out how to do it I will post a link here (don't hold your breath though I'm a technonumpty).
Oh why does the postman never come when your watching at the window?

Yesterday postie delivered a parcel which was lovely but it wasn't squidgy so I was slightly disappointed so I'm sat waiting for another parcel to arrive and there is no sign of him!

I ordered some Foxy which I want to try to make up as a bear - it may be a disaster like the origin was but we will see.

Wednesday, 27 May 2009

I have just finished another bear. This one is made from a beautiful yarn but its totally horrid to knit with.

I dont think I will be using this yarn again which is a shame as it makes the most perfect teddy fur.

This bear has caused a bit of a stir as my DD really wants him, my DS is sulking at the thought of DD having him

A friend has been hassling me for him and a lady in the village really wants him!! Oh what to do! anyway here are some pictures of him.

Note: Ringo has now left for his new home, I hope he will be very happy there.

Sunday, 17 May 2009

So I set about making her another bear and this is who I made.

I would like to introduce ....Happy :)

As you can see he is alittle shy and loves playing hide and seek!!

Once I was able to encourage him out of hiding I took a couple of picture before he was sent on his way up country.

As you can see he could do with alittle exercise to shift that tummy!!
He is being auctioned off for a Race for Life so I will let you know what he raises in the end.
Note: Just to let you know he raised a nice amount of money for Joy and has now been sent to his new home with Kathyn where Im sure he will be very happy :)
This bear was made for a friend to auction off for her Race for Life but the more I looked at her ...... sadly the more I didnt like her :(

So she has stayed here with me and the kids (she will be well loved) and she is now happily playing in Dolly's room.

As you can see all the leaping around has worn her out!!

Friday, 1 May 2009

B2 is back to the shop - hopefully with a bank holiday weekend he might find a new home, fingers crossed.

Pinky was delivered last night so she will have to hid in the cupboard until the end of the month (lets hope she can keep quiet for that long!!) before she is allow out to play with her new owner.

Wednesday, 29 April 2009

Do you remember the birthday bear that I needed to make - well she is finished.

I would like to introduce you to Pinky!! As you can see she is a really laid back babe :)

B5 is currently at the police station!! Noo he hasnt been naughty - he is there by invitation and is going to be raffled off to raise some money for a charity cycle ride.

So fingers crossed that he make the charity some money, I'll let you know how he gets on.
I found out at the weekend that B3 has found a new home :) Im so pleased that he has gone off on his journey to live with a lady would needs a bit of loving.

Tuesday, 21 April 2009

I have also been asked to knit a bear for someones birthday - her parents have asked that I make a cream bear with a pink nose and pink ribbon so I better get knitting!!
Well here is B5, Im pleased with him as he is slightly "tighter" then the others.

He is going off to his new home on Wednesday so I hope he will be happy :)

Tuesday, 24 March 2009

I guess no one else has the enthusiasm for my binty bears!! I haven't hear anything from the shop so I guess they are still homeless :(

Saturday, 14 March 2009

I am so lucky to know some lovely people! Blueadt from http://www.blueadt.blogspot.com/ so very kindly helped out and managed to post my pictures for me.:)

So with a big thank you to Blue ... I am pleased to present you with B4

I have finished B4 today and I quite like him. He is different because I have never made a cream bear before.

I have some pictures of him but I can't get my phone to talk with the laptop so I can't post them!!

Its times like this that I hate being such a technonumpty :(

Monday, 9 March 2009

Well today I started B4, he is going to be ivory coloured with hopefully a chocolate coloured nose and ribbon. I will post piccies as soon as I have something to show.

Saturday, 7 March 2009

Well today was a first for me and I have felt many emotions.

I took B2 and B3 to the shop for them to go on display and hopefully for them to sell.

I was so worried when I went into the shop but I shouldnt have been as Kim made me take them out of the bag straight away to show someone who just happened to be in the shop at the time and then Simon did all the paperwork.

They are there for 2 months and if they dont sell I will have them back.
I felt alittle strange leaving them at the shop - hope they will be ok and dont have to stay there too long - a nice warm home with a big bed for them to sleep on would be just about perfect!

So now I have to wait and in this instant no news is not good news!! Simon promised to phone as soon as one is sold so fingers crossed.

Here is a couple of pictures of them in the window (rotten pictures I know - sorry)

Friday, 6 March 2009

Bear 2 and Bear 3 are off tomorrow on an adventure! They are going to sit in the window of a local shop and see if anyone would like to own them :)

Its a funny feeling really, Im quite nervous about it as Im quite unsure about my work. But we will see if there is any interest in them.

So fingers crossed that they find a lovely new loving home soon and dont have to spend too much time waiting!!

Sunday, 1 March 2009

Bear number 3 is now complete.

As you can see he has made himself quite at home!!

Saturday, 28 February 2009

Well here is bear number 2, he has turned out with a rather fat tummy but I think he is ok with it!!
He has a cheeky little grin and with his head cocked to one side I think that shows his cheeky personality!
